A leader of an ethnic Albanian political party DUI, Ali Ahmeti, has escaped an attempt on his life while campaigning for the country's June general election, local media reported on Tuesday.Ahmeti, a leader of the Democratic Union for Integration (DUI), told police gunmen opened fire on his car in the western village of Rahovec on 12 May 2008 but he escaped uninjured.
